Diverse Computing was recently named one of Florida’s “Best Companies to Work For” by Florida Trend magazine. We placed 26th in the small business category.
Holding true to the values that our company was founded upon is what drives growth and innovation at Diverse Computing. Free catered lunch every day anda a pet-friendly office help to attract talent, but, according to the survey results, what makes our employees stay long-term are things like having confidence in the organization’s leadership and being treated with respect and fairness at work.
In our second year making the Best Companies list, we have seen many positive developments, including being named to Inc. magazine’s Best Workplaces 2018 and the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies.
These accolades come with a lot of hard work. “Like any company, there is always room for improvement. We see these survey results as a window into our opportunities for growth,” said Director of Operations Nichole Moore. “What sets us apart as a company is being dedicated to our employees and taking action on their feedback rather than becoming complacent.”
The annual Best Companies list is featured in the August 2018 issue of Florida Trend magazine. One-hundred companies are ranked in each small, medium, and large employer category.
We were named to the Best Companies list in 2017 as well.
Companies that chose to participate underwent an evaluation of their workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The process also included a survey to measure employee satisfaction. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
“Employers we speak with talk a lot about how workplaces are changing and how young employees’ expectations are changing. For the Best Companies issue this year, we spoke with new hires and got their perspectives on what attracted them to the companies where they work and what they like best about their workplaces. One key concern that young workers talk about is whether the company seems to care about more than just their academic record and technical qualifications,” says Executive Editor Mark Howard.
Director of Corporate Communications & Outreach, Lester Hutt, agrees with this assessment, citing our company policy of hiring for fit, rather than solely for skills. “We never want to place an employee in a position where they’re unhappy or are unable to showcase their true strengths. This is why so many of our employees feel high levels of satisfaction with their role.”
