Calling All Heroes began with a simple purpose: to honor telecommunicators. Over time, the initiative has grown into a national storytelling movement centered on the voices and lived experiences of dispatchers.
Listening.
The initiative begins with listening to telecommunicator stories — the challenges, the unforgettable calls, and the defining moments. Each story provides insight into the unique emotional and operational demands of the job.
Sharing.
The stories shared with Calling All Heroes are highlighted throughout NPSTW and the rest of the year. These stories offer the public a deeper appreciation for the essential work telecommunicators perform and help uplift the community that stands behind the headset.
Giving.
While the NPSTW giveaway remains part of the tradition, the heart of Calling All Heroes has shifted toward celebrating the people behind the stories. The giveaway supports this broader mission of recognition, appreciation, and storytelling.
